The pandemic of the coronavirus has a wide-spread impact throughout the world. This includes the country of India. Because of COVID-19, India has been placed on (an ongoing) lockdown. This has impacted the nation on the Federal, State and Local levels. Lockdowns have also disrupted the local economy as the majority of India heavily relies on agriculture. Because of the limited access to markets and increased curfews, shopping for daily groceries (such as fresh milk, vegetables, fruits, and meat) has made it difficult for practically the entire population of rural India who depend on fresh produce.
In the midst of lockdowns and restrictions, IREF continues to be a source of provision for those it serves and those in the community of Repalle. Despite the current challenges of COVID-19, IREF has decided to do what it has always done in the time of emergency – be faithful and be a helping hand to those in need. With your help, our goal is to provide 1,000 individuals with food packages (of rice, groceries and vegetables). IREF staff, church members, local government officials and municipality employees are all equally in need. As a voice in the community IREF feels responsible to be a pillar of support by providing and distributing food packages to all those affected by this crisis.
WOULD YOU CONSIDER BEING THE HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS TO RURAL INDIA DURING SUCH AN UNCERTAIN AND CHALLENGING TIME?
EACH CARE PACKAGE COSTS US $15
